Spring Yankee Candle Scents

Spring Yankee Candle Scents

There is no denying it. I am a candle addict. I think it definitely says something that the other day for my birthday, basically all my family and friends got me candles for a present...not that I can complain though!

There is just something about having a candle burning in the room which makes everything so much more peaceful.
One of my all time favourite brands for candles is Yankee Candle because of the amazing range of scents and value for money.

I normally get mine from Clinton Cards and I especially love getting the tester votive size candles to try out all of the different scents. This year for my birthday I got quite a few votives in fresh spring scents, some of which I have never seen before so they might be new. I thought I'd share with you some of my favourites that I think are perfect for this upcoming season.

Scents: Peach Smoothie (yuuum..), Grapefruit, Fruity Melon, Sweet Pea, Pink Honeysuckle.

For small candles, they give off such a strong scent that fills the whole room, all of which are really light and fresh. My particular favourite is Peach Smoothie and Fruity Melon because they smell so delicious, sweet and refreshing!

What do you think of Yankee Candle? And which scent is your favourite?

My Favourite Minis

My Favourite Minis

So, I'm one of those girls who tries to cram in as much stuff in my handbag as possible and most of it turns out to be unnecessary! What can I say?...I like to be prepared!

But recently I have managed to save a bit of space in my bag by carrying minis around with me instead of full sized products. Minis are also a great way to try out more expensive products before splurging on things you might not like! Sometimes mini products can be quite disappointing compared to the real thing but these are my favourites that I have discovered:

Benefit Full Glam Ahead Trio includes:

-High Beam Highlighter
I quite like this highlighter to brighten my face or give more of a dewy look. The mini size is actually perfect for me as a little goes a long way so I would never get through a regular size bottle!

-Stay Don't Stray Primer
This is not the most amazing eye primer I have ever tried but it works well nonetheless. It is so cute and tiny so is perfect for travelling.

-Badgal Lash Mascara
This is one of my favourite ever mascaras so I love having it in a mini version so I can reapply it on the go! I first tried this product as a mini as I couldn't justify the full size price if I wasn't sure if I would even like it!

I got this set from Boots for only £9.50 which I personally think is such an amazing price for Benefit products that are such good quality.

Real Techniques Mini Brush Trio includes:

-Mini foundation brush (pink)
Regardless of the name, I like to use this to touch up my powder or blush on the go because I think the shape of it works really well.

-Mini shading brush (purple)
This brush is perfect for reapplying eyeshadow and fixing any smudging of eye makeup in a rush.

-Mini face brush (orange)
I mainly use this if I want to put on a bit more concealer or foundation throughout the day beause it works well to blend these sort of products in to my existing makeup.

I love how it comes in a little pouch too because it makes it so easy to carry around and means I don't have to carry around a huge makeup bag or risk spilling makeup all over my bag!

I am a HUGE fan of Real Techniques brushes and I love how this set combines a few classics. Even though the full size brushes are easier in normal situations, these minis are definitely the same stunning quality so are perfect to carry around with me in my handbag.

You can get this set at Boots too for £9.99, again I think it is such a good price for such amazing brushes!

Have you been impressed by any minis recently? Let me know your recommendations

As you can probably tell from the name of my blog, I love all things monochrome. I just love how simple and clean it looks, and a lot of my outfits are mainly monochrome because I find it so easy to style.

Recently I went to a Photography gallery and it seemed like a perfect backdrop for a few outfit snaps! A bit of a random post really but I had a lovely time wandering around this beautiful gallery and I wanted to make it into a blog post somehow...

My Little Box Review: The Frenchie Box (Feb 2015)

My Little Box Review: The Frenchie Box (Feb 2015)

Ever since I first heard about subscription boxes I wanted to try one because I love the idea of receiving a small package of surprises in the post each month. However, with so many subscriptions on offer ranging in prices in value, I never knew which one to choose!

I heard about My Little Box recently from other bloggers so I had to check it out for myself! And I can honestly say I was more than impressed as you get a lot of lovely, unique products for less than £15 a month! (including P&P)

I received the Frenchie Box, and here is some of what is included:

This box was inspired by Ines De La Fressange a French icon so I loved the elegant, Parisian feel to the box. You also get a magazine which is actually such a good read, this month there as a section on hidden treasures in Paris which I thought was such a unique idea!

These are the beauty products included (as well as blotting sheets that I forgot to take a picture of, oops!). There is a tinted moisturiser, brow gel and waterproof eyeliner from such good brands! I have already swatched them and they are all so lovely- I can't wait to try them out properly.

There was also a little jar of inspirational quotes which is such a beautiful, original touch:

Finally how can I not comment on the packaging and illustrations?! They are seriously stunning and definitely make the box more perfect for me. I really cannot wait to get my box next month.

WHAT'S INSIDE EACH MY LITTLE BOX?

- Must-have beauty products (including one from
their own in-house beauty range, My Little Beauty)
- Fashion and lifestyle accessories
- Their magazine (My Little World)
- Illustrated goodies by Kanako
- And other surprises…
Altogether, I think my box came to the value of nearly £70 so I would highly recommend checking out My Little Box.
Let me know if you have tried any subscription boxes? And what do you think of My Little Box?
